A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Bowl, Chenghua Mark. - A Chinese Chenghua Mark Blue and White Porcelain Bowl. This small, footed porcelain bowl features classic blue and white underglaze decoration. The exterior is adorned with a continuous motif of stylised blue flowers and foliage, bordered by a blue line below the rim. The interior is plain white, with a central swirling blue rosette design at the bottom. The base reveals an unglazed footring and bears a six-character underglaze blue reign mark within a double square, reading ”Da Ming Chenghua Nian Zhi” (大明成化年製), which translates to ”Made in the Great Ming Chenghua reign.” H: Approximately 5cm D: Approximately 7.6cm Provenance: Private collection based in West London.
