A Chinese Ceramic 'Imitation Le Yu' Scalloped Bowl, 18th-19th Century. - A round, shallow ceramic bowl or dish of East Asian origin, featuring a scalloped rim. The interior is decorated with a central stylized dark green floral motif, possibly a lotus or peony, set against a reddish-brown ground. This central design is further embellished with scattered dots and an outer band of radiating, overlapping petal or leaf-like forms, all rendered in dark green glaze. The exterior is coated in a reddish-brown glaze, contrasting with an unglazed foot that reveals a light buff-colored clay body. The base bears a handwritten inscription in Chinese characters, which translates to phrases such as ”Imitation of Le Yu” (倣樂裕), dates including ”Gengchen Dingchou Dragon Year brush” (庚辰丁丑龍年筆) and ”Renzi Summer Day” (壬子夏日), and studio or artist names like ”Le Tang” (樂堂) and ”Weixin Jinghua Painting” (維新井花画).
