A Chinese Doucai Dragon Bowl, Chenghua Mark. - A Chinese doucai porcelain bowl, bearing an underglaze blue six-character Chenghua reign mark within a double ring to the base, reading ”大明成化年製” (Dà Míng Chénghuà Nián Zhì). The exterior is decorated with two five-clawed dragons, one predominantly green and blue, the other blue, amidst auspicious clouds and flame-like motifs in green, red, and yellow overglaze enamels on a white ground, with a simple underglaze blue line at the rim. The interior features a central medallion with stylized cloud or ruyi head motifs in a similar palette, also bordered by an underglaze blue line. The underside of the bowl continues the decorative theme around the footring. D: Approximately 15.6cm Provenance: Private collection based in West London.
