A Chinese Jiaqing Famille Verte Porcelain Brush Washer, Jiaqing Mark. - A Chinese Jiaqing Famille Verte porcelain brush washer. This circular shallow basin is decorated in vibrant polychrome enamels, characteristic of the Famille Verte palette. The interior features a detailed narrative scene divided into two registers: the upper depicting numerous figures in an architectural setting, possibly a palace, and the lower showing figures in boats on a lotus pond. The interior rim displays a striped border. The exterior sides are adorned with a green ground featuring stylized pink and red floral motifs within shaped reserves. The underside bears an underglaze blue six-character mark within a double circle, which translates to ”大清嘉慶年製” (Dà Qīng Jiāqìng Nián Zhì), meaning ”Made during the Jiaqing reign of the Great Qing Dynasty.” D: Approximately 28cm Provenance: Private collection based in West London.
