A Chinese Tibetan White Metal Travelling Censer. - A Chinese Tibetan White Metal travelling censer, crafted from a silver-toned metal. The spherical, hinged body is intricately pierced and chased with a dense foliate design covering the entire exterior. Integrated into the decorative scheme are multiple circular medallions, several of which bear the Chinese inscription ”長命富貴” (Chángmìng fùguì), translating to ”Long life, wealth, and honor.” A decorative chain with a hook is attached to the exterior, allowing for suspension. When opened, the interior reveals a sophisticated internal gimbal mechanism designed to suspend a small, plain metal bowl, ensuring it remains upright regardless of the censer's orientation.
