Ahmed Moustafa (Egyptian, b. 1943), An Egyptian Islamic Calligraphic Composition in Symmetrical Thuluth and Kufic Forms, 20th Century - An Islamic calligraphic composition by Ahmed Moustafa (Egyptian, b. 1943), executed in a highly symmetrical and architectonic layout characteristic of Egyptian devotional calligraphy of the 20th century. The work is structured around a pyramidal central form, with flowing Thuluth script interwoven with more compact Kufic-style inscriptions, creating a dynamic interplay between bold curves and disciplined linearity. Rendered in contrasting tones of deep burgundy, blue, and black ink on a natural buff-coloured ground, the composition achieves visual balance through mirrored calligraphic forms converging toward a central axis. Smaller diacritical marks and auxiliary script fill the interstices, enhancing the rhythmic density of the design while maintaining legibility and spiritual focus. Approximately 51.5 x 40cm
