An Ottoman Calligraphic Panel Depicting Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, Signed ‘Muhammad ‘Ali’, 19th–20th Century. - A richly detailed Ottoman devotional panel centred on a stylised depiction of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina, shown with its iconic green dome and minaret within a large circular medallion. The central image is surrounded by an elaborate architectural and floral framework, filled with finely executed Arabic calligraphy arranged in cartouches and roundels. The inscriptions include blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad, Qur’anic verses, invocations, and honorific names, carefully balanced to create a harmonious and symmetrical composition.
