A Syrian or Egyptian Brass Vessel with Silver Inlay, Probably 19th Century - The vessel is formed with a slightly tapering cylindrical body rising to a plain rounded rim and terminating in a flat circular base. The exterior surface is densely decorated with engraved scrolling foliage and stylised vegetal motifs, arranged in continuous bands around the body. Interspersed within the decoration are cartouche-shaped reserves containing silver-inlaid calligraphic elements, creating a strong visual contrast against the warm brass ground. A narrow geometric band encircles the lower section above the base, while the interior remains undecorated. H: Approximately 5.5cm
