An Indian Brass Figural Betel Nut Cutter (Sarota), 19th-20th Century. - Cast in brass and formed as a stylised mythical creature, this traditional Indian sarota features an elongated, articulated body with finely worked surface decoration. The head is modelled with an open mouth and pronounced facial features, while the body and limbs are enriched with incised geometric and foliate motifs. The curved arms terminate in the functional cutting mechanism, ingeniously integrated into the figural design. L: Approximately 22cm
