A Qajar Lacquer Papier-mâché Mirror Case, 19th Century. - A Persian lacquered papier-mâché portable mirror case. The mirror case, featuring a traditional lobed top, is finely hand-painted with a dense arrangement of roses and buds in polychrome pigments against a dark, shimmering ground. The interior reveals a classic gul-o-bulbul (rose and nightingale) painting executed on a cream-coloured ground, positioned opposite the internal mirror plate.  Approximately 24 x 15.4cm
