A Qajar Brass Jewellery Casket with Pierced Calligraphic Decoration, 19th Century. - Of rectangular form, the brass casket is richly decorated across all exterior surfaces with dense floral scrollwork and framed panels of Arabic calligraphy. The front and sides are articulated with a series of circular medallions, each enclosing finely rendered calligraphic inscriptions, arranged in a horizontal register. These panels are bordered by repeating floral bands, creating a structured and balanced visual composition. The domed lid is similarly ornamented, featuring an openwork calligraphic band encircling the upper section, with a raised central panel above.
