A Safavid Tinned Copper Bowl with Calligraphy and Figural Decoration, 17th Century - Of broad, rounded form with a gently everted rim, this Safavid bowl is crafted from copper and finished with a tinned interior. The exterior is finely engraved with alternating decorative registers combining Arabic calligraphy and figural imagery. Cartouches containing flowing calligraphic inscriptions are arranged around the upper band, each framed by geometric and foliate borders. Below, the body is ornamented with figural scenes depicting seated and standing human figures set within shaped medallions, interspersed with floral motifs and small rosettes. These figural panels are linked by scrolling vegetal designs, creating a continuous and harmonious decorative field across the vessel. H: Approximately 13cm
