An Indo-Persian Collection of Manuscript Leaves and Calligraphic Panels. c. 1680-1948 (Signed). - A collection of manuscript leaves and calligraphic panels featuring Islamic miniature paintings and architectural diagrams. Various locations, dated between 1091 AH (approx. 1680 AD) and 1368 AH (approx. 1948 AD). The collection comprises several unbound leaves in vertical and horizontal formats, ranging from quarto to small folio in size. Executed on paper using various styles of Nasta'liq script, opaque watercolour, and gold leaf ornamentation. Key subjects include a standing Sufi saint with a halo in a green floral robe, a seated holy man with prayer beads, and a stylised bird's-eye view architectural diagram of a religious complex, likely including the Kaaba. Notable inscriptions include a panel dated 1293 AH (approx. 1876 AD) mentioning Nizam al-Mulk Asaf Jah and a vertical panel titled Kalam Qudsi (Holy Words) signed Abu al-Baqa al-Musawi and dated 1091 AH (approx. 1680 AD). A large-scale calligraphic leaf is signed Rahmat Ali Qadri and dated 1368 AH (approx. 1948 AD). Textual fragments include Be-bar to shadan bo din hamayun va saeed on a red-bordered panel and Wujud-e-ost noor / Adam az khak on the final panel.
