A Royal Qajar Firman Issued by Muzaffer I al-Din Shah, Iran, 19th Century. - A finely illuminated royal Qajar firman executed in elegant Persian calligraphy on paper. The document is arranged in horizontal bands of black nastaʿliq script, framed by richly decorated margins filled with scrolling floral and foliate motifs in polychrome pigments. At the upper section appears an illuminated cartouche containing royal titulature, set within a lobed medallion highlighted in blue and gold tones. The right margin is further embellished with a continuous floral border, while the lower portion bears an official red ink seal impression, affirming its administrative authority. The overall layout, refined illumination, and formal calligraphic hand are characteristic of Qajar court firmans, produced for high-ranking officials and provincial governors.
