A Large Carved Stone Chess Knight Figure, 19th Century. A substantial carved stone chess knight in the form of a stylised warrior seated astride a horse. The figure is depicted wearing a rounded helmet and sporting a defined beard, with incised facial features and linear detailing accentuating the eyes, nose, and hair. The knight holds a rounded shield to one side, decorated with a simple circular motif, while his opposing arm extends forward across the horse’s neck. The horse is rendered in a compact and solid form, with simplified features and a slightly bowed head.
