An Indian Painting of Thakur Kusal Singhji Champawat on Horseback, 20th Century. An Indian painting in opaque watercolour depicting Thakur Kusal Singhji Champawat mounted upon a dark caparisoned horse, attended by retainers. The nobleman is shown in profile, seated in dignified composure, holding the reins in one hand and a slender staff in the other. He wears a white flowing jama secured with a vivid pink sash, and a patterned turban adorned with a plume. A quiver of arrows is slung across his back, indicating martial status. The horse is rendered in a deep brown tone with a decorative bridle and tasselled adornments, its raised foreleg suggesting forward movement.
