A CHINESE WUCAI PORCELAIN ARROW VASE WITH ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHY, ZHENGDE MARK, LATE QING DYNASTY OR REPUBLIC PERIOD. - A porcelain vase of fanghu-derived form, featuring a globular body rising to a waisted neck flanked by two tubular arrow handles, all supported on a splayed foot. The vessel is decorated in the wucai palette, utilising underglaze cobalt blue alongside overglaze red, yellow, and green enamels, set against a cream-coloured ground with a pronounced Ge-type ice-crackle glaze. The central decorative motif consists of four diamond-shaped medallions to the body and smaller medallions to the neck, each containing Arabic or Persian calligraphy in underglaze blue. These are surrounded by a dense field of scrolling lotus vines and floral sprays. The handles are embellished with geometric lozenge patterns, while the neck and foot are bordered by scrolling floral bands. The base bears an apocryphal six-character reign mark in underglaze blue within a double circle: 大明正德年製 (Da Ming Zhengde Nian Zhi), indicating a later production in the style of the Zhengde period (1506–1521). Such pieces were historically produced for the Islamic market or for Muslim officials within the Ming court. H: Approximately 28cm
