A NORTH INDIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF BALA KRISHNA, 19TH CENTURY. - A provincial cast bronze devotional statuette from Northern or Central India, depicting Bala Krishna, the infant form of the Hindu deity Krishna. Known affectionately as Laddu Gopal or Makhan Chor, the figure is rendered in a characteristic crawling posture, clutching a ball of butter in his right hand. The deity is embellished with traditional jewellery, including a decorative girdle, necklaces, armbands, and anklets, with his hair gathered into a distinctive side-swept topknot. This piece represents the playful childhood of Krishna and was likely intended for use within a domestic shrine. H: Approximately 10cm
