AN INDIAN CAST BRONZE RITUAL FIGURE OF KAMADHENU AND CALF, 19TH CENTURY. - This Indian ritual figurine depicts Kamadhenu, the sacred wish-fulfilling cow of Hindu mythology. The deity is portrayed in a maternal stance, nursing a small calf beneath her. The sculpture is mounted on an integral, stepped square plinth. The anatomy is rendered in a traditional stylised manner, featuring tubular legs, a pronounced dewlap, and large, expressive eyes. The cow is adorned with an incised geometric saddlecloth across her back and a heavy, textured collar around her neck. Such pieces were commonly used in domestic shrines for puja or as votive offerings in temples. H: Approximately 4.1cm
