AN ISLAMIC OVAL SILVER-MOUNTED CARNELIAN AMULET PENDANT WITH CALLIGRAPHIC INSCRIPTION. - An oval-shaped Islamic amulet pendant featuring a central translucent honey-coloured carnelian stone. The stone is intaglio-carved with calligraphic Arabic script, identified as the Ayat al-Kursi (The Throne Verse) from the Quran (2:255), preceded by the Basmala at the upper edge. The text is contained within a carved border of zig-zag lines and dots. The stone is set within a plain silver frame, which includes two small integral suspension loops at the top.
