Bidspirit auction | A ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHIC AMULET PENDANT,

A ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHIC AMULET PENDANT, DATED 1327 AH. - An oval calligraphic amulet pendant. The face of the stone features incised inscriptions in Arabic script rather than Hebrew. The central oval contains two lines of text in a fluent Nasta'liq hand above the Eastern Arabic numerals 1327. This date corresponds to approximately 1909 AD in the Gregorian calendar. The central inscription is interpreted as a name or title, possibly Nusrat Khuda-verdi. A continuous band of smaller calligraphic characters circles the perimeter, containing religious invocations consistent with the Naad-e-Ali prayer. This prayer is a common protective invocation in Persian talismanic traditions, serving a similar protective function to kabbalistic amulets within its regional context.  Approximately 5 x 4.2cm
