AN INSCRIBED CARNELIAN AQEEQ AND SILVER TALISMANIC PENDANT. - An inscribed talismanic pendant featuring a central oval carnelian stone, commonly known in an Islamic context as aqeeq. The translucent reddish-orange stone is set within a simple silver mount featuring a partial backplate and two suspension loops at the upper edge for horizontal suspension. The obverse of the stone is hand-engraved with five lines of Arabic script in Naskh calligraphy, with the incisions highlighted by a white pigment fill to improve legibility. The text includes the Dua al-Safar (Traveller's Prayer), the Basmala (Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim), and verses 13-14 from Surah Az-Zukhruf: Subhan alladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen wa inna ila rabbina lamunqaliboon. These verses are traditionally recited to seek protection and divine favour while travelling. A small decorative scroll motif is positioned at the base of the inscription.  Approximately 4.1 x 3.1cm
