AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND ENGRAVED YEMENI AQEEQ TALISMANIC RING. - An Islamic interest ring featuring a large oval carnelian cabochon, often referred to as aqeeq. The stone is intaglio-carved with Arabic calligraphy, featuring the Basmala (Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim) to the central panel, surrounded by a border of further script likely comprising Quranic verses or protective prayers.  The carnelian is held in a rub-over bezel setting, bordered by two rows of decorative rope-twist wirework.
