AN ISLAMIC SILVER AND CARNELIAN SIGNET RING WITH CALLIGRAPHIC INSCRIPTION. - A signet-style talismanic ring featuring an oval, translucent brownish-orange carnelian gemstone. The stone is deeply intaglio-carved with Arabic calligraphy reading Ya Razzaq (O Provider), one of the 99 names of Allah. The central inscription is bordered by a series of short, radiating incised hatch marks. The gemstone is set within a heavy white metal bezel mount, featuring notched decorative segments around the perimeter. The shoulders of the ring are decorated with ajoure openwork forming stylized foliate or heart-shaped motifs, complemented by incised geometric patterns on the sides of the band.
