The stone is hand-engraved using intaglio techniques with two registers of Arabic calligraphy separated by a horizontal line. The script is set against a background of foliate and scroll-work motifs. The top register contains characters resembling the name Muhammad. The metal setting is cast with hand-finished decorative elements, featuring deep vertical ribbing or gadrooning that extends from the bezel down the wide shoulders of the band.
