The piece is constructed from olive-green silk using a complex weaving technique where the calligraphic elements and geometric borders are integral to the fabric structure. The design features a repeating chevron or zigzag pattern, a characteristic motif for Ottoman religious textiles. The inscriptions are rendered in a formal thuluth style.
