AN ISLAMIC BRONZE OPENWORK FOLIATE FITTING OF AN INCENSE BURNER, 12TH CENTURY. - A bronze fitting featuring a long, gracefully curved square-sectioned arm. The arm is decorated with a series of recessed rectangular piercings along its outer edge, terminating in a hook at the lower extremity. The opposite end flares into a large, intricate decorative plate executed in an openwork technique. This terminal displays stylised foliate and scrolling motifs, reminiscent of a palmette or acanthus leaf variation. The piece appears to be a functional or decorative element, potentially serving as a harness attachment, handle, or architectural fitting.  L: Approximately 26.5cm
