A semitic (paleo-hebrew) carnelian scaraboid stamp-seal. Deer and inscriptions. 7th century B.C. 14 x 16 x 8 mm Scaraboid shaped stamp-seal with a slightly domed back and pierced lengthwise. On the base, a deer (ibex type) turned to the right and framed at the top and bottom by two horizontal lines; phoenician or aramaic inscriptions. Drill technique for the animal. Wear marks. Parallel : British Museum, London, inv. 02971. U.K., private collection 70's, in the same family since then.
