A SILVER TEAPOT China, Qing dynasty, dated 1906 The compressed globular body with a relief decoration of a dragon flying amidst clouds, an ear shaped handle, the curved spout and the finial of the lid modeled as bamboo stems, on the body within a lobed reserve the inscription “To Mr. R.L. Hiro from St. Andrew's Church Colombo 1906”, impressed marks to the centre of the base. 10,5 x 22,5 x 14 cm Provenance: Italian private collection. The church of Saint Andrew referred to in the inscription is the Presbyterian one in Colombro, Sri Lanka, founded in the late 19th century.
