A LARGE 'CANTON' PORCELAIN WITH POLYCHROME DECORATION BALUSTER VASE China, Qing dynasty, mid 19th century Circular section, the ovoid body surmounted by a sturdy cylindrical neck profiled at the bottom by a festoon, the expanded mouth with a wavy rim, on the shoulder two pairs of relief chilong dragons, the handles on the neck shaped as a Buddhist lion and cub, the external surface with a geometric ground with larger reserves crowded with figures inside pavilions and smaller cartouches with isolated figures; restored. 64 cm high Provenance: purchased from Vasco Ughi & C.o, Via Tornabuoni, Florence (receipt); Italian private collection.
