Giorgio Ghisi (1520-1582) after Perino del Vaga (1501-1547) Venus and Vulcan at the Forge Engraving 19,2 x 31,1 cm State IV / IV, with the address of Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi: Gio. Jacomo Rossi formis Romae alla Pace. Inscribed with the initials' GMF 'in the lower left and ' PIRINVS. IN.' the lower center. Traces of Antonio Lafreri's previous address faintly visible at the bottom right. Bibliography: Bartsch, XV.405.54 Lewis 1985, 19.IV Specimen printed on laid paper with watermark (fleur-de-lys). Trimmed, with thin margins beyond the platemark. Very good state of conservation except for slight thinnings of the paper on the reverse and a short tear in the lower center restored on the reverse.
