Herr L. Weininger - Height x width x depth: 9 x 9 x 8 cm. Total gross weight: 3300 g. carved from elephant ivory (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) , depicting the four seasons: each putto, with its chubby cheeks, is placed in a semi-recumbent position. Each one represents one of the four seasons: spring, adorned with a garland of flowers on her head and a bouquet of flowers in her hand, symbolising nature's awakening; summer, surrounded by ears of wheat and fruit, symbols of abundance; autumn, holding a bunch of grapes, also present adorning her hair; winter, with a falcon and a falconer's glove. Signed ‘L. Weininger’, identified in the Viennese sculptor Herr L. Weininger. Plexiglass bases.
