Italian gold and enamel snuff box, Papal States, 19th century - Height x width x depth: 2 x 6.5 x 4.5 cm. Weight: 63 g. of rectangular shape in 18k yellow gold, decorated with geometric motifs on the bottom and inside, the lid and sides with floral decorations. In the centre of the lid is a polychrome enamel miniature depicting an officer in half-length profile. Hallmarked with the gold marksrks in use in the Papal States since 1815 and “18KT”. Apparently not hallmarked: verified with XRF spectrometer is guaranteed to be gold at the approximate fineness of 561 ‰ (ca. 13.4k)
