Shell, Europe, 19th century - Height x width x depth: 6 x 22.5 x 17 cm of Red Abalone (Haliotis refescens), characterised by warm iridescent shades. On the upper part there is a metal element shaped to represent a head flanked by two symmetrical scrolls.  Provenance: Count Luigi Rigi Luperti collection.
