Agate slice on metal base, France or Italy, second half of the 19th century - Height x width x depth: 34.5 x 9 x 9 cm set in a richly crafted golden metal frame with scrollwork elements. The work rests on three finely decorated circular feet. It reflects the taste for ornamental objects inspired by nature typical of nineteenth-century Wunderkammern.
