Grand Tour table, Rome, 1850 - Height x diameter: 84 x 54 cm circular and made of marquetry and carved walnut. The tabletop features a central checkerboard pattern in polychrome marbles. The outer border is decorated with a refined selection of antique marbles and semi-precious stones, including fragments of yellow antique, red antique, and malachite, set against a black marble background. The walnut support structure features a central baluster shaft, finely carved with foliage and pod motifs. The tripod base, english from the Victorian period, features scroll-shaped feet decorated with acanthus leaves.
