ARNALDO POMODORO (Morciano di Romagna, 1926 - Milano, 2025) - Height x width: 6.5 x 8 cm. Weight: 110 g oval in shape. The work bears the inscription ASTALDI ESTERO 1950–75 on the central cartouche, commissioned to mark the 25th anniversary of the renowned construction company’s international operations. The surface features Pomodoro’s famous informal style: a pattern of ‘archaic script’ or ‘engraved marks’ rich in geometric forms, small parallelepipeds, reliefs and rhythmic incisions. 800/1000 silver, hallmarked “800”. Literature: Arnaldo Pomodoro (Morciano di Romagna, 23 June 1926) One of the most famous and influential contemporary Italian sculptors. Known for his imposing geometric sculptures (such as the iconic *Sfere*), in which the smooth, polished surface ‘breaks’ to reveal a complex internal mechanism, he has also devoted much of his work to jewellery, medal-making and research into the mark.
