ACÁCIO LINO (1878-1956). PAINTING ”Saint Francis of Assisi” - Painting with moisture staining, paint flaws and imperfections. Frame with signs of use and cracking. Traces of xylophagous insects.#Acácio Lino (1878-1956)Acácio Lino de Magalhães (1878-1956), known as Acácio Lino, was born in Travanca (Amarante) and died in the city of Porto. He studied at the Academia Portuense de Belas Artes and was a scholarship student in Paris, between 1904-1906. He made study trips to Italy and Switzerland, around 1906. Upon his return to Portugal, in 1912, he began teaching Historical Drawing at the Academia Portuense, where he later became sub-director. He painted mainly historical and naturalistic themes, but also devoted himself, to a lesser extent, to portraiture and religious themes. He received the Medal of Honor of the Portuguese Society of Fine Arts (1927), the Commendation of the Order of Santiago da Espada (1940), the Gold Medal of Artistic Merit of the City of Porto (1941) and the Grau de Comendador da Ordem de Cristo (1948).
