D. MARIA STYLE CHEST OF DRAWERS IN VINHATICO AND ROSEWOOD - TRANSITION 19TH/20TH CENTURY - Elegant chest of drawers of Portuguese manufacture from the transitional period of the 19th to the 20th century (late 1800s / early 1900s), designed in the distinctive D. Maria style. The rectangular structure with straight lines features exquisite fronts with vinhático veneer and decorative rosewood frames, highlighting the diamond-shaped geometric inlays in the center of each drawer. Front with 3 aligned drawers at the top and three superimposed lower drawers. Turned circular rosewood handles, enriched with a central circular ivory/bone inlay. The piece rests on cut-out plank feet with an undulating lower skirt. Original period built-in locks of hand-filed metal sheet accompanied by an old and functional key. Dimensions: 91 x 109 x 47.5 cm. Excellent overall state of conservation.
