RICHLY CARVED AND POLYCHROMED ORIENTAL CAMPHOR CHEST - Unusual rectangular camphor wood chest, featuring high and low relief decoration of exceptional dynamism and ornamental density. The exterior structure displays an ivory/white patina decorated with incised floral and vegetal motifs. The top and front face stand out for their embedded reserves, profusely carved and polychromed, depicting epic battle scenes with figures of warriors on horseback, heraldic shields, and fortified architectures. The sides are also intricately worked. It features the original decorative patinated brass circular clasp. Rests on carved feet integrated into the structure.
