LARGE ORNATE SCULPTURAL SET WITH PEDESTAL - BODHISATTVA GUAN YIN IN GILDED MARBLE AND WHITE JADE (C.1970) - TOTAL HEIGHT: 164CM - Imposing and monumental ornate decorative set, with a total height of 164 cm, composed of a large figurative sculpture and its respective column pedestal, dating from the mid-1970s. The main piece represents the Bodhisattva Guan Yin (Deity of Compassion and Mercy) in the iconic royal ease posture, seated on an elaborate stylized rock formation. The body and rock structure are masterfully sculpted in marble, featuring a rich finish with a vibrant and radiant gold bath, adornments and jewels. The deity's face stands out for the application of a block of natural white jade, meticulously sculpted with serene features, half-closed eyes, and a meditative expression, creating a high aesthetic and spiritual sophistication. The sculpture rests perfectly on a robust classical column-shaped pedestal (divides into 3 perfectly fitting parts), executed in striped marble with natural grayish veins. The column features a fluted shaft, a molded capital, and a stepped circular base, providing stability, monumentality, and elegance to the entire set.
