ANTIQUE TURKISH KAYSERI WOOL ON COTTON RUG (3.15 m²) - Important decorative oriental rug of Turkish origin, 3.15 m², from the prestigious artisan weaving center of Kayseri. The piece, made of extremely fine pure wool and fine knotting, exhibits high technical mastery in recreating the iconic Persian Herati (Mahi) pattern in an continuous (”all-over”) arrangement. The central field features a dense mesh of micro-floral motifs and intertwined curved leaves on a deep navy blue background. The composition is framed by an elegant traditional triple border ornamented with geometric and botanical cartouches on a light background. Robust rug in wool on a cotton structure, finished with short, clean fringes at the ends.
