MASK - Wooden mask with an elongated oval face, slit eyes under soft arches, a rectilinear nose, and a slightly open mouth with incised teeth, highlighted by light pigment. A vertical ridge in the center of the forehead and the dark patina, with areas of wear and whitish touches, accentuate the contained expression. Due to the elegance of the proportions, half-closed eyes and marked teeth, it may approximate the sculptural tradition of Côte d'Ivoire, particularly Baule/Yaure circles; a merely stylistic attribution, not confirmable solely by photographs.
