Bidspirit auction | MALE FIGURE

MALE FIGURE - Stylized male figure in wood, with an enlarged and rounded head, continuous eyebrows extending to the nose and half-closed eyes; ringed neck. Vertical arms close to the torso, marked genitalia, and short legs with grooved toes. Smoothed surface with dark patina and reddish nuances, with small abrasions on the prominences. Due to the head proportions and ringed neck, it may approximate West African sculptural traditions, a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed solely by photographs.
