SCULPTURAL COMPOSITION - Wooden sculpture with applications, featuring an anthropomorphic figure erected on a large mask-like head, with a perforated base. Verticality is emphasized by the tall, curved hairstyle and the frontal posture, with compact volumes and a prominent gaze. Remains of red and white pigments and multiple strands of beads on the neck, waist, and ankles create contrasts on the worn patina. Due to the configuration of the superstructure on a ”helmet-mask” head and the bead adornments, it may approximate the Yoruba sculptural tradition; this hypothesis cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
