SCULPTURAL COMPOSITION - Metal alloy sculpture with a globular body raised by two cylindrical supports that merge into an annular, serpentine-like base. Around the globe appear human figures in high relief, with defined expressions, helmets, and annular collars, holding staffs or spears; a lateral appendage suggests a zoomorphic motif. Densely incised surface, with dark patina and shine on the edges. The courtly iconography and segmented collars may refer, as a stylistic hypothesis, to the sculptural tradition of ancient Benin, an attribution not confirmable by photographs alone.
