Bidspirit auction | SCULPTURAL GROUP

SCULPTURAL GROUP - Figurative group in metal alloy, on a rectangular base, with five standing figures and a horse with a rider, suggesting a procession scene. Elongated bodies, conical headdresses, and torsos with spiraled discs, as well as twisted wire segments (including an elongated element carried on the shoulder), structure the composition. Surface with casting texture and dark patina, with slight highlights from use. Due to its stylization and the use of spiral windings, it may be close to the Dhokra sculptural tradition from central India; an attribution not confirmable by photographs alone.
