Bidspirit auction | THREE-HEADED FIGURE

THREE-HEADED FIGURE - Figure with a vertical and compact presence, featuring three heads — one frontal and two in profile —, inlaid eyes, and accentuated volumes in the arms, breasts, belly, and thighs. In various materials, it reveals a dark brown patina with areas of wear, and features rope bindings and segments of beads running along the torso and legs. Due to its polycephaly, vigorous modeling, and added elements, it may be close to the sculptural tradition of Central Africa; such an attribution cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
