Bidspirit auction | SCULPTED FACE

SCULPTED FACE - Wooden sculpted face, vertical in shape and almost flat in section, with refined volumes: slit eyes, a pointed nose, and a small protruding mouth. Surface with a whitish patina, signs of use, a vertical fissure, and losses on the upper edge. Incised circles are observed on the cheeks and an engraved hairline on the forehead; stylistically, this piece may be similar to the sculptural tradition of Central Africa, a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed solely by photographs. Presented on a display base.
