Bidspirit auction | ANNULAR PIECE

ANNULAR PIECE - Wooden piece with applications, featuring an open annular body, thick and hollowed interior. The ends terminate in rounded, zoomorphic-suggesting protuberances with small applied dots, and the surface exhibits incised zigzag friezes along the edge. Dark patina with brownish nuances, signs of use, small chips, and visible cracks. Due to the combination of zoomorphic terminals and incised decoration, it may approximate the sculptural tradition of West Africa, a hypothesis that cannot be confirmed by photographs alone.
